As a company, we are intent on bringing opera to young people and dispelling any stereotypes that they may have about the genre by involving them in all aspects of the production process. This is an extra-curricular activity that can take place after school and in lunchtimes in the weeks leading up to performances.

The students involved will take an active role in the production, whether through working with set/costume designers, helping backstage with lighting and stage management or participating in the opera itself. They will learn more about the various operas from which we take scenes, including the historical significance, the plot of the entire story and how the music relates and enhances the performance on stage. Through this method of music education we hope to bring the love of opera and classical music to a generation where opinions are still being formed and tastes are yet to be defined.

The LOC has a strong connection with Queen’s College on Harley Street, where Felicity and Celena are both singing teachers. We shall be giving the very talented singing students of Queen’s College, Harley Street opportunities to perform with The Little Opera Company see what's on?
